Please Note; BSSL very highly recommends reading through our Reservation Policies before coming in to book an event to help avoid common misconceptions about our services.
All sound packages are delivered fully-operational with speakers, a control board and all other equipment BSSL deems necessary. With the exception of our smallest package, engineers from BSSL will be present and will operate the system from beginning to end.
BSSL will only connect to devices with a 3.5mm audio output (Standard Headphone Jack) to our sound systems. BSSL does not provide devices to play audio from, nor do we accept USB flash drives, CDs, or Phones with Lightning or USB-C audio ports.
BSSL will not provide any audio files ourselves (background music, sound effects, etc.)
With the exception of our smallest package, BSSL does not rent any equipment without a complete sound package and an engineer to operate the system.
Our smallest sound system, recommended for small presentations, speakers or casual background music. Not suitable for most live events.
D-Sound does not include an engineer present throughout an event; however, a BSSL audio technician will drop off/set-up, and pick up the system. D-Sound consists of one powered speaker, one microphone, one XLR cable, and one 3.5mm iPod/laptop interface.
C-Sound is a system designed for smaller venues, less performance-based production. Excellent for keynote speakers, spoken word presentations, and soft background music. Not optimal for outdoor events or large spaces.
Requires 1.25 hours of setup. Room Must Be Reserved 1.25 Hours before the Time BSSL must be set up by. This does not include Union Set-up time on R-25.
Recommended for mid-sized and larger venues like Old Union Hall or the Mandela Room. Includes larger speakers for greater room coverage, and fuller sound for music. Great for Medium-sized events with DJ's or small musical acts in medium to large sized rooms.
Requires 1.5 hours of setup. Room Must Be Reserved 1.5 Hours before the Time BSSL must be set up by. This does not include Union Set-up time on B-There.
A-Sound is functionally identical to B-Sound, but with the inclusion of subwoofers for a deeper and more powerful bass sound. Recommended for shows centered around dancing and other musical performances, namely bands and larger DJ events. Additionally, only senior engineers are cleared to operate this system, resulting in our most seamless and comprehensive audio package. Recommended for sensitive and highly-invested events.
Requires 2 hours of setup. Room Must Be Reserved 2 Hours before the time BSSL must be set up by. This does not include Union Set-up time on B-There..
The same system as A-Sound, except with two extra speaker towers. Recommended only for the largest of venues (Events Center/West Gym/Peace Quad/Outdoors).
Requires 3 hours of setup. Room Must Be Reserved 3 Hours before the Time BSSL must be set up by. This does not include Union Set-up time on B-There.
Events with live performances (Singers, A-Capella, Instruments, Bands, Etc.) may incur an additional Live Act Fee or Deluxe Live Act Fee to cover necessary equipment and labor. This is not an optional fee if live performances will be occurring at your event.
Live Act Package
The Live Act Package is suitable for performances with instruments and small bands who require (3) or less monitors and who do not need a microphone for their drumkit.
Requires at least .5 additional hours of setup. Requires at least .75 hours between "Setup-By Time" and "Show Start Time" for a mandatory sound check. All performers who will be performing must be present at the "Set-up By Time".
Deluxe Live Act Package
The Deluxe Live Act Package is suitable for performances with Full Bands that require more than (3) monitors, and can have up to 6 monitor mixes.
Requires at least 1 additional hour of setup. Requires at least 1 hour between "Setup-By Time" and "Show Start Time" for a mandatory sound check. All performers who will be performing must be present at the "Set-up By Time".
Monitor World is recommended for large bands with multiple monitor mixes; book according to artist riders/performance requirements. A Monitor World is a separate sound console that sits near the stage, and controls the levels in the band's monitors. Note: Book early! Monitor World requires the availability of a second sound system in order to operate.
Requires at least 2 additional hours of setup.
A monitor is a small speaker that sits on the stage and faces the opposite direction of the speakers. This is useful for performers to hear themselves while performing, and recommended for most musically-oriented acts, with the exception of A-capella.
